It's something I love about kdramas. I love the blend that I call "magical realism" where a fantasy character or scenario is added to an otherwise everyday situation. There are so many examples it's hard to pick a favourite but my firsts were King Eternal Monarch, Goblin and WTwo World's so let's go with those as a start. There have been so many since then 🫰

And they almost did the genre blending episode by episode when it got into the latter half. The opening scenes with the bloody hand make you think it's gonna be horror, but by episode 4 Rowoon has gone full golden retriever, we explore some historical past lives, throw in a murder plot, and swing back around to romcom (I will never be over ep 15 scene in the closet). THIS. SHOW. HAS. EVERYTHING.
