Establishing new character beats:
Queen Nectarine is in fact lesbian and demisexual. I explain a little about that in the video as it relates to me, but lore wise, it's because Nectarine and Star are childhood friends that kinda drifted apart (it was a failed arranged marriage--Nectarine's royal family fell into disfavor during the arrangement).
Nectarine "kidnaps" Star now as an excuse for them to be together, since they still have feelings, but Star is still in a situation where their kingdoms are in conflict. :3
