What won’t you miss
Added 2022-12-01 17:42:35 +0000 UTCI reread my conversation with Megan last night and it made me laugh. She had high fever yesterday and was like “don’t worry I can still podcast.”
I truly wasn’t sure if it was delirium talking.
But she was all “No, this something I won’t miss unless I’m actively dying.”
So that’s how much Megan loves us and you.
What is something that you will show up for as long as you aren’t bleeding out or hooked to life support?

2022-12-04 04:22:26 +0000 UTCMy friend just went through a really, really traumatic time: a really horrible break-up, losing her job two days later, and her dad dying two days after that. You can't make that s**t up. She called me on Saturday and told me her cursor was hovering over the "buy now" button for a Monday flight to Berlin: she wanted to see me (I feel really honored by this), to leave her physical surroundings for a bit, and to give herself the space to process. I told her to buy the ticket, dropped everything for her, and on Monday we started going to Christmas markets every night until she left yesterday morning. We hit 6 in 4 nights, and she smiled so much that it made my heart sing. Look, I may not have the finances to travel to my friend, but I damn well can ensure that she's not alone if she comes to me. (Also, please hold a good thought for her!)
