It’s Friday I’m in Love…

It’s my favorite song by The Cure and heck one of my favorite songs ever…

What is everyone watching? I’m starting The Sound of Magic and carrying on with My Mister. But I had to pause my life to inhale all available episodes of KinnPorsche—a Thai BL recommended by Alison which is so far chef’s kiss perfection.

Sound off in comments.

It’s very campy. I … sort of loved it. I think it settled down ish but also his laugh and behavior is sort of constant lol

Megan Erickson

Hey, has anyone seen the K-drama version of Fated to Love You? I just started it and so far it is over the top campy… does it settle down?

Lorna

I am finding Shooting Stars surprisingly charming in these most recent episodes. I just finished the C drama Falling into your Smile. I am still loving Liberation Notes.

Lorna

Touch Your Heart is SO good. I didn’t think much of it the first time but rewatched it recently and liked it much better. Lee Dong Wook is really good and the FL, who I didn’t care for initially, is a wonderful foil for him. Great chemistry.

Claudia Copeland

The Crowned Clown is probably my favorite sageuk. It wormed itself into my heart last year, and never left. Just a gorgeous show all around.

Slowly making my way through Mad Dog (from 2017). Really enjoying the goofy From Now On, Showtime! It’s been hard waiting for the episodes to drop on Viki. But don’t add my name to the Sound of Magic viewers’ list; I made it through one episode and bailed. Just couldn’t get into it. Still love JCW though. 💖

Watched all of Sound of Magic and really liked it. Still working my way through Touch Your Heart. Slow and steady wins the race, I guess :)

Becky

I haven’t had much KDrama time cos of elections so I’m still on what I was last week - From Now On showtime, which still really enjoying and Crowned Clown which is building up to its climatic end and I have no idea how they’re gonna finish this drama!

Sarah @afternoonaasks

Have you tried Mystic Popup Bar? It's got a similar format to Tomorrow. It's, intentionally, more hokey but self-contained story per episode while also revealing the main characters' past lives. So curious if anyone else thinks Tomorrow is headed toward the same conclusion...

Hannah

HHahahaha I’m so scared to start -Lia

Ok I need your rec for next one after KP because of reasons …

I am slowly working my way through K2. I usually love action, but I'm pretty lukewarm about this one. I have many thoughts about it, but I'll reserve judgement until I get to the end. My primary issue is with the FL, so I'm curious to hear what you think, if you make it to the end :P

Last week I finished up Descendants, which I felt just so-so about. I’m also half way through The King, and while the world building is cool, I’m not sure if I’m as invested as I should be at this point. I plan to finish it though. Planning to start The Sound of Magic this weekend, and I’ve also promised my husband that I’ll watch The K2. Generally it looks more action oriented than I’d go for, so thank goodness for JCW. If the clips on IG are to be believed, he’ll be plenty motivating. 😂 I’ve also been wanting to start another BL (I’ve done Color Rush, Semantic Error, and Cherry Blossoms). I like that they tend to be shorter and fit in the gaps between my other shows. Does anyone have one they’d recommend?

Nicole H

Right now I am just rewatching my favorite BL's, currently in rotation is Blueming, Cherry Blossoms After Winter and KinnPorsche (for obvious reasons).

Alison D.

I have Terius ready to watch, have you liked it? I really enjoyed Uncanny Counters but there are a few bullying scenes that are pretty terrible 😢

Erin Miseyko

I too will start Sound of Magic this weekend, maybe binge it. I have my fingers crossed for that one. I still have the list of currently airing shows which I’m mostly committed to. Liberation Notes is on that list because I fell hard for Gu, but unlike many other watchers, I have absolutely no love for the 3 siblings, especially the brother and older sister. If I have a favorite among the current shows, it’s probably Tomorrow, because the actors are very compelling and the individual stories that the reapers engage in are interesting and well done. I’m also simultaneously watching several others: the Cdrama Master of My Own (it’s also current but new episodes come out daily), and Sungkyunkwan Scandal, a very old sageuk starring a very young Park Min Young.

Claudia Copeland

What on earth is Sound of Magic? I've watched three episodes and I cannot tell if it's a coming of age or delusional or romance or tetanus accident waiting to happen. Guess I'll finish it so that I can find out. One of the charms of k-dramas is that they don't feel limited by genre but I would prefer to watch this show without the lingering concern that everything is going to be murdered by a cut-rate magician and/or urban neglect. Or I'll stick with Tomorrow which is solid and compelling.

Hannah

About to finish Terius Behind Me with my favorite, So Ji Sub and then I might try Uncanny Counter this weekend as well!
