Processing my FEELINGS

Hi everyone. Amy here. I know I'm late to the party, but I just had to binge watch Mr. Sunshine for our pod recording tomorrow. I say had to binge because I would rather savor this drama, but life and other responsibilities did not allow me to do so. So I'm just here to let you all know that I will be caught up in my feelings for a long time after this masterpiece of a drama. I don't know why it took me so long to watch it, but I will definitely be watching it again this summer when I have time to savor. I can't wait to talk about this one on the pod. For now I'm just going to marinate in all the emotions. Who's with me?

Yes, an amazing drama all around. Every one of the leads is incredible and the story is so completely compelling. Oh, Yoo Yeon-seok tears at me, and Kim Tae-ri in this vs 25-21 is amazing. The ending shocked and almost killed me.

Claudia Copeland

Right? This one will be with me for a long time. And I will have to rewatch it.

I just finished read Pachinko! Guess I'll have to add Beasts of a Little Land to my list now as well!

The cinematography was unbelievable. Just a visually stunning drama. And the story! Like, 24 episodes is a LOT, but there was nothing superfluous. It was all brilliant and necessary and just so exquisitely done!

Megan Erickson

It took me a long time to get over this drama, I feel for you x

This show was so amazing. I just finished reading Beasts of a Little Land by Juhea Kim and it starts around the same period, so I've mentally cast half this show as book characters now.

Chicago Typewriter has been on my list for so long. Looks like I will need to watch it.

Megan Crutchfield

This is in my top 5. I was blown away at the detail and cinematography. Not only was it brilliantly cast, the story was heartbreaking and beautiful and all the things. I have told so many people in my non Kdrama life that this is on par with Pearl Harbor as far as story telling. I recommend it all the time. I binged it so fast, but then did go back and rewatch it slowly. I'm glad that you loved it.

Megan Crutchfield

Yes, such a good drama!!! Alllllll the feels! Sending big hugs 🫂 Also, I think Chicago Typewriter pairs nicely with this one, just bc of how it deals with the feelings around the end of the Japanese colonial era. Kind of the bookend to the journey you start in Mr. Sunshine.

Grace

For sure in my top 5 as well. I don't think I can see her as a teenager just yet! She will be Go Ae-sin for me for a long time.

Megan Erickson

So so so so good. It left me wrecked. Amazing plot, cinematography, acting, pacing, writing. Seeing Kim Tae-ri so convincing play a carefree teenager in 25 21 right now is breaking my brain. It’s in my top 5 now (out of 70).
