What are you watching this weekend? And why is it Love and Leashes? lol

February has SO MUCH ON OFFER. And I still haven't caught up on end of 2021 goodness. What a problem to have!

But Love and Leashes has dropped. YAY! No spoilers in thread I beg you. If it turns out to be a movie we need to discuss, I'll open up a post for it. I'm so excited and so scared because I want to love it.

Also--friendly reminder we are dropping our Patreon pod on Seobok on 15th if anyone is keen to watch it first. If you aren't really wanting to watch, you can still listen. It's full of spoilers (obvi) but also a pretty good reflection on personal taste and emotional hot buttons, plus ruminations on how to unpack when you don't like something that someone else does.

Anyway proceed to share what you are watching...I'm finishing Color Rush 2 and starting Our Beloved Summer

Although I was still pining for Kim Min Kyu and Jo Ji Ah from I am not a Robot, I decided to check out Dali and the Cocky Prince. So glad that I did, because I really enjoyed it. Loved the leads’ chemistry and their respective story arcs, especially Dali’s.

Alison Amratlal

I watched Forecasting Love and Weather, and Twenty-five Twenty-one. Both are off to a good start, but especially FLW. The first episode I wasn't sure, but episode 2 was great.

Lauren Cohen

Our Beloved Summer is so well made, I couldn't decide until I finished the entire show whether I actually liked it or was just enchanted by it. Don't want to prejudice anyone, but curious what you think

We've watched ep 1-4 so far of Goguryeo-era drama River Where the Moon Rises (Viki), a romance about a warrior princess. Kim So Hyun plays the princess/FL as a strong and sympathetic character. She played Kim Shin's sister in The Guardian and Jo-jo in Love Alarm. It's already great--we were totally hooked from ep 1. Like many sageuk dramas, it has a cast of characters, so we caught on much more quickly by reading the basic synopsis and character list on Wikipedia before we started. Be forewarned: Na In-woo is coming in strong to win your heart with all manner of adorable-yet-fierce ML/sidekick/hero moves!

I saw L&L last night, too, and although I don't know enough to say for sure, they seemed to make it approachable and romantic but also thoughtful/sensitive.

Maybe spoilers: I did not see any of the 50 Shades movies so can't compare the level of intense acted feelings/chemistry. L&L was not as explicit or intense as The Handmaiden or Frozen Flower, much more a "pleasant romp" I thought.

Enjoyable is a good word for it. I liked it, but I think I was hoping for something a bit more somehow. More feelings or intensity maybe. Perhaps that would have made it too over the top.

I also did watch Love &Leashes yesterday......lots of enjoyable parts while not actually showing any "parts". For sure some stuff I will Google, lol.

I watched Love and Leashes last night. Now I’m watching Happiness and a Thai drama in the evening because Happiness gives me nightmares.

Alison D.

I've got the last 2 episodes of My Name to finish tonight and then its totally Love and Leashes!

Elizabeth

I’m so excited for several things this month! I am watching Hello Monster right now (a bit underwhelming unfortunately) and I am definitely watching Love and Leashes + starting Forecasting Love and Weather and Twenty Five Twenty One this weekend! πŸ˜€

I’m catching up on Moonshine but started Our Beloved Summer, which I kinda like. I love how it’s shot and I love the leads, I’m reserving judgement on it as a whole but it’s early days. Definitely want to check out L&L. And Snowdrop has dropped on Disney UK πŸ™ŒπŸ™Œ
