Drama Hangovers

What dramas were you so obsessed with that when they were over, you sought out additional content? I'm talking like cast interviews, red carpets, etc? I (Megan) finished My Name and I can't stop watching bonus content, because I'm not over this drama. I'm not sure when I will be lol. Han So Hee is such a precious giggly person and it's so in contrast to her character. Also Ahn Bo Hyun is also a smiley delight in real life, yet he chooses masochistic roles where he can never be happy. WHY DO YOU DO THIS TO ME, ABH? My kingdom for an action drama where ABH is the lead who gets to show off his great comedic timing AND gets the girl.

Anyway, Lia is watching My Name now so please no spoilers in the comments. We will be doing an episode on this, and we'll do a spoiler thread when she's finished to discuss. In short, I highly rec -- just know it's super brutal, violent, and intense.

Hospital Playlist πŸ’” I wanted more seasons. More patient stories, more songs, and more Kim Jun Wan 😍

Hmm, don’t really have hangovers. I just hit play again, usually on Healer and IOTNBO. Also Goblin. Those three are my happy place. Love Jung Hae In, but hated D.P. It was pretty heavy handed, and a downer from the opening scene. Be prepared for difficult situations.

Hello, everyone! Been listening for a while now and following on IG. Glad I finally made it here; it's great to have this space! For me, it's been weeks and I am still haunted by Hospital Playlist. This seems to happen for me with every drama written by Lee Woo-jung, including the Reply series. I usually don't rewatch series very often. I just enjoy and move on to the next one. But not with her shows. The only one of hers I haven't watched yet is Prison Playbook. Saving it as a reward for after I finish grading semester papers. :)

My last big one was from It's Okay, That's Love. It hooked me from the beginning and kept me until the end! I thought it did a good job on showing a different side of mental illness (which I feel like kdramas always do!), plus I loved the ML and FL, they had such great chemistry. They really learned to lean on one another and opened up to each other. I just rewatch my favorite parts on YouTube over and over again. πŸ˜‰

Reply 1988 gave me my last big hangover…. (Lia)

Oh boy, I think I went off on a tangent. Other hangovers have been from Jung Hae In shows, especially One Spring Night, and Ji Chang Wook shows like Healer and Lovestruck in the City.

As well, as I was in the throes of the intense and obsessive watching this past winter, I saw so many similarities between Korean and Japanese culture/ daily life practices. I have family members who have lived in Japan for 30+ years and have visited a few times. Whether it was the winding streets in residential areas, or the little landing pad at the door and step up and slippers to put on.....the reserve/good manners of most people..the food culture.....so many "geographic culture" similarities. That lead me into learning waaayyy more of the history, and there was much I was unaware of. As soon as I feel comfortable travelling overseas again, I will be checking out Korea for sure.

My original hangover was CLOY, I had a Healer one, a Goblin one, a I am not a Robot one, a Mr Queen one... my most recent was One Spring Night. I've been most rewarded by Hospital Playlist as there is SO MUCH bonus content for this show. I am currently having a mini Prison Playbook one....

Recently: D.P. sent me into googling military practices; there has been something in every other show that has me googling the actors and their other works. As I started to learn faces and names, it has been really enjoyable to see them in other shows. When someone else mentions a favourite of mine, I feel such delight at remembering the story. And now my Instagram "look at this" feed is almost all Korean topics (ok, handsome Korean men).

For another brutal, violent, intense drama, highly recommend DP
