The week of discoveries

So, this last week I spent doing achievements, kinda.

Well, I pulled a few (~14) out of my...head, and created animations for them.

What's an achievement? I'll post the (somewhat) finalized screen-shot later, when I'm done actually putting them in the code. But a short version is this:

Once Gloria meets certain requirements - you unlock an achievement. You can then open the tab with them, click it, and see an extended (and filthy, as most of them are end-game) explanation, along with 1-2-5 animations.

It took me the whole week for this many animations (currently 22) because I tried creating a new set-up for each of them: a new room, a new outfit, some fucked-up body-writing, and so on.

On top of that, now I have a lot more tools to play around with a camera, motions, and even animations. And since I'm still a total scrub, I spent a fuck-ton of time just trying to figure out "what", "how" and "why don't" they work.

Most of the achievements won't be obtainable for now (and maybe for a long time).

I don't want to sound like a total pooper, but this is for the end-game mostly. Some of them will pop up in the upcoming update, but most won't.

I'll create a second, super-secret way to unlock them, and put it into "the Guide".

If you're not afraid of spoilers, or want to see where the whole thing is going - yeah, you'll be able to check them.

The lamest thing: I don't really know myself how Gloria will look like at the end of her...journey. That's why I saved each and every scene separately: worst case - I can just load it, swap her body and re-render it.

Bigger poop!

Well...Among other things, I've stumbled upon another cause of "why the fuck my save-games don't work?!".

Apparently, deleting (what I considered) useless, temporal ".rpyc" files before I create another version was not the smartest and default move.

And I was so sad when I accidentally forgot to clear them before doing a release...Turns out when I DID forget, that's when your saves were probably fine...Fuck me. Being a noob sucks.

Anyway.

Most likely your saves will be broken AGAIN, since between 0.5b and 0.5c I was very very happy with myself because I did NOT forget to delete those files...

But I guess you've already got used to me being a PROgrammer...

Another technical thing.

Turns out the rare report about the game-crush when trying to open E+M stats screen was not a fluke. It's something the RenPY sucks at.

You can check this yourself: try opening as many in-game screens as possible: E+M, Gloria's stats on top, her camera, and you'll crash your game too (most likely).

This is something I'll have to workaround. By reducing the number of video-files playing at the same time, and making some screens turn off when you open other ones. This needs work too. Plus I need to experiment if 60 fps videos are gonna make it even worse...

Well, at least you can have 8k Gloria °˖✧◝(⁰▿⁰)◜✧˖°

I'm not gonna post any achievements animations, so...Pew-pew!
