Hey, everyone.
I can't believe it, but we've reached 100 patrons!
And I'm dangerously close to reaching my second goal too. Which is kinda scary.
I couldn't really think that my amateur attempt at doing some silly porn-game will ever be something that can buy me a new PC.
Yeah! I'm upgrading soon. And it's a pretty big thing for me. The last time I was able to buy a $1.5k worth PC was...never. My own rig is from 2012 right now, and if someone's interested I'll post old/new specs later.
I just wanted to say a big Thank you to all of you for your support and interest in what I do.
But as much hyped as I am to get my hands on the new hardware finally, I must confess that it will also bring some delay to developing the next patch.
Moving all my shit to the new workstation, installing, upgrading, testing, playing around with different new options Win10 has to provide, getting comfy with it - all this is gonna take some time. Parts are arriving in a week and it will take several days to settle down in a new place.
After that, I want to do a clean re-install of the software I'm doing animations in. When I started I had a hard time figuring it out, so I just went with a re-pack people assembled and worked with that. It's over-bloated with unnecessary stuff, and I'm too afraid to touch anything in it, to not lose everything I already made.
So, a new, manual setup is required. And I don't know how much time it will take me to get this thing up and running, then to transfer my already made assets into it.
But it's essential. I feel like it's the perfect time to fuck around with it, while I have a fresh setup.
Worst case scenario: I can't figure it out and just use the same re-pack and continue the thing I'm doing.
Best case scenario: I figure everything out, make it look better, with more tools and shit-ton more assets to play with.
The reality is probably gonna be somewhere in between: I'll spend some time solving shitty, obscure problems, at some point give up, throw everything I can into it, and move on. But who knows.
To sum things up: I'll wait for all parts to arrive = ~1 week, install everything I'm used to having (programs, games, social, etc.) = ~ 2-4 days, re-install and play with the animation software = ~ 1-4 days. Then I can move on with the development. Approx 3-7 of August is when I'll start working on a new patch.
Right now.
For now, though...
I've packed everything into v0.5b, and currently uploading it to MEGA.
Everyone from $5+ tiers can get it right now. I'll make it public somewhere on Sunday (26), then do my regular "run around the internet and promote myself" thing.
I'll need to patch this thing another time after more people play with it. But besides that - I'm just gonna shamelessly chill and finish some IRL stuff until new parts arrive.
Once again: thank you for making this happen!
See you later!

Ps. Esther reminded me of Jennifer Lynn Connelly from the Requiem for a Dream movie in this pic. That movie gave me a nice little mental trauma back in the days.
