I liked the granddad character but I loved Uncle Albert even more. The writer, John Sullivan, seemed to be able to do so much more with Albert’s character (as you’ll see in upcoming episodes and future series) than he was able to do with granddad, giving Albert so many funny lines and putting him into more comedic situations than granddad would ever get into. Fun fact: before getting into acting, Buster Merryfield (who plays Uncle Albert) used to be a bank manager!

This is probably the hardest episode you’ve reacted to yet. There is a little piece with the Ofah boys on a talk show (I think Parkinson), which is the last time we see Leonard Pearce (granddad)

The writer, John Sullivan, brought in Buster Merryfield as their uncle Albert, to make it 3 in the trotters flat again. The episodes and further series and episodes only get better and better. I hope you do all the series' and then they went into full blown 50 minute episodes then into hour n half episodes. You must react to the sit com right up to it's conclusion. You won't regret it. The antics they get up to are so funny.
