Thanks for a great reaction. I have all these films on DVD. There were 6 films in the original run, then a 7th with Wes Cravens New Nightmare before the reboots occurred. To my mind the first 3 are the best. Believe it or not Wes Craven was inspired to write this following some real life events, which involved several people and tragically including Children, who came from some war torn part of the world and had harrowing nightmares because of the trauma they'd experienced. They all died in their sleep. I find that terrifying. It's a geniusly written film. I trip a lot of people up who think Edward Scissorhands was Johnny Depps first movie when in fact it was this film.

2024-10-12 18:33:59 +0000 UTCAs a teen, I first saw Robert Englund as Willie the loveable alien in the original "V" miniseries. So when I saw Freddie Krueger for the first time (it was actually the sequel I saw first), I still associated him with Willie since it was the only other thing I'd seen him in. It was hard for me to see him as anything other than Willie. Now it's the other way around.
