Ruh roh; time really got away from me this time again. I've been fighting AI web scrapers and/or DDoS attacks, but there's been a bit of feature work too. In other news, I went viral on youtube that resulted in 250+ LoBlast orders and I also had a wedding celebration.

Most of the stuff that got done:

April 2025 Review

About a week late, but that's ok!

BotB officially turned 20 years old yesterday!

What was done in April:

• new system email for signups and forgotten passwords

  • coincidence(?) that this came one year after losing the .org domain, but gmail decided to quit server system emails which was a grandfathered free service started roughly 15 years ago

• new formats: gbstudio, liveplay

• blocked more bot ip ranges

Looking Back at March

Last month marked the conclusion of BotB's 20th annual Winter Chip compo! 420 entries, 140 BotBrs and 30 Formats. It was the site's 2nd biggest battle ever.

What was done last month:

• show battles on botbr profile once they start

• some form styling tweaks

• xhb 0 entry handler

• battles show format icon if period has single format

Monthly BotB Work-a-Doodlesismnesses...

Hey, folks, this year I've decided to pivot from making monthly videos that only higher tiered patreonts can see. I'm going to start doing public posts here showcasing lists of what I got done while working on Battle of the Bits. I will continue to plan to make these posts on the 1st Monday of each month. Though, because I was uncertain what the change would be, there is an additional month worth of work to share! 🙌
