August Riedel Study WIP

Been working on this master study of August Riedels 1840 painting "Judith" on and off for about a month now, mostly trying to understand that JUICY gold and cloth rendering - I was planning on finishing it and creating some sort of video on it explaining my thoughts and what I'm learning from it before the end of January. As it happens though, my wrist tendinitis has returned, and is hurting like never before!

If you all didn't know, I've had tendinitis (or some sort of inflammation and muscle tension in my wrist and shoulder, many doctors have looked at it and come to different conclusions) since I was 16. For the past two years the pain has been pretty manageable thanks to exercise and good habits, but this month I really overworked myself aaaand my arm isn't too happy with me.

For now I'm taking an indefinite amount of time off work to rest and fully recover. Hopefully it won't be more than a couple of weeks as I am already losing my mind not being able to draw or work, but I'm not sure. Until then, posts will be sparse and there won't be any new art from me. This really really sucks but there's nothing to do but listen to my body and take it easy for a little while.
