Tuesday Morning Check-In

Hello! Good morning! How is everyone doing?

I wanted to start this morning's post by taking a moment to say thank you. To all of you here, thank you. While I've wanted to start my Patreon for quite a while, the idea stayed in that box of "someday-maybe's" for so long. And quite honestly, it stayed there because of fear.

While I knew that I would never know how well it could do until I tried, there was still a part of me that was terrified. What if no one joined? What if I waited too long? What if I couldn't keep up?

All of these fears added up, and somehow, in my mind, it was better never to have tried, than to try and to fail.

While it didn't make sense, this mentality felt like it was protecting me, keeping myself and my dreams "safe" from what could be the harsh reality check of the world.

And so I never started it.

Until now.

Just over a week ago today I launched, and you all came through. There are almost a hundred of you here, and I'm so grateful for each and every one.

YOU are the reason I do what I do.

The moral of the story? Fear, doubt, and uncertainty will always influence every choice you make. The job of those emotions is to protect you, but they're not always correct. Sometimes, it's better to take the chance.

Okay, your turn. What have you been afraid of lately? What doubts have kept you from doing what you wanted? Has there ever been a time you conquered that doubt? Tell me about it. I'd love to hear.

Im afraid of failure, this has been pulling me back and stopping me from coming out of my comfort zone and seizing so many new opportunities and careers lately. I just recently started to overcome this. I'm just about to relocate away from my home town to become a full-time touring Pyro technician. This has been my dream since I joined the live entertainment industry. After years of deppresive cycles, the future's finally looking bright.

A short film! How exciting!! The work may be hard, and fear is absolutely a factor, but you have my full faith behind you, and i can’t wait to hear more about it :)

I’m trying to get an animated short film going, but life and fear keep getting in the way. I just got out of a meeting with my film instructor about what I need to do in order to get going even though I’m behind. These next few weeks may be painful and miserable, but the prep I’m doing now will lead to the dream I’m leading towards.
