Observations outage Oct 16 - 23
Added 2023-10-29 06:45:15 +0000 UTCAround October 16, the NWS website which the simulator data server uses for METAR observations changed their URLs for data access. This caused retrieving the METARs to fail, which led to an outage for all observations in the simulator.
This problem was straightforward to fix since it only required a code update and recompile on the data server side, and not in the simulator itself. As of October 23, observations should be functional in the simulator again.
