Naturally, I spent some time doing studies while taking in all that new knowledge. Up there are some (no ref) figure studies I did after watching a drawing demonstration by Glenn Vilppu. Really soothing old guy with a very rhythmic, productive approach to drawing. Recommended!
Some other things: face studies (with ref) with a method presented by Steve Huston, also a good art person. Some of them are janky, but at least I know what to address next. And then there's some important painting practice as well (process gif follows).
Finally, I had some "real life" application where I tried to put it all together to sketch a more stylized character, more like what I would draw for my Patreon here. I might get around to coloring it someday, but for now I'll keep it as a sketch. There's a process gif for it too, but it was kind of an afterthought so it's a little short. Sorry!
Anyway, that's all for that, I think. Need to start some actual drawings soon.
