2025-08-11 19:24:38 +0000 UTCI remember looking up which of the two movies was considered better and ended up finding some post by a buncha aquateen fans, so I read up on it. Damn near everyone in there was saying that the first movie was better and that newer Aqua Teen was worse specifically BECAUSE it has plots that actually go somewhere. Apparently, they legit prefer it just going nowhere, and would even say that much too. Lotta them talked about the reason they liked it being so like... aimless and nonsensical was just because a lotta them would be greened out on a couch or something back when it aired, and it being so weird and aimless made it stand out like crazy whenever they were stoned and up late.

2025-08-09 21:50:34 +0000 UTCFor the record, no one is bashing the later seasons over the older seasons, season 11 finale is the funniest fucking ATHF episode to me. Every season (1-11) has great episodes and any episode is funny for being their own thing, like Jet Chicken and Rocket Horse or Last Dance for Napkin Lad. For me, I didn’t think Plantasm was better than the first one, it started off strong and classic ATHF, but it dragged the boring Amazon plot. Only credit I’ll give to Plantasm is it, and Aquadonks Side Pieces, brought the show back for one more season: season 12.

2025-08-09 21:31:01 +0000 UTCThe reason you two like the later seasons and not these older episodes is maybe because these early seasons barely had a budget. The creators worked on Space Ghost Coast to Coast, another low-budget, limited-resources show. I think that’s why you were recommended to chronologically start from the beginning, to see the evolved progression because of the moderate budget increase based on the flagship success of the show, merch, first movie and notoriety from the 2007 Boston Mooninite panic.
