WIP WHENSDAY: OLD MEN YAOI
Added 2024-02-29 20:30:01 +0000 UTCHello, lovelies! This edition of WIP Whensday features a look at my next print, which highlights a very particular trend in recent fighting games: hot old men!
Old men have always been a staple in fighting games, albeit as the "Old Kung-Fu Master" trope (such as Wang Jinrei of Tekken, Gen of Street Fighter, Shun Di of Virtua Fighter, Gen-Fu in Dead or Alive, Tung Fun Rue in Fatal Fury...the list goes on) . But in recent years, there's been a change in how old men are portrayed in fighting games--they're not all Kung-Fu Masters!
Featured in this collection is JP from Street Fighter, Goldlewis Dickinson from Guilty Gear Strive, Hitman from DNF Duel, Leroy Smith from Tekken (who is an old Kung-Fu master but subverts the trope in a lot of ways), and of course, Victor Chevalier who also hails from Tekken!
I noticed this trend, and figured I'd pay tribute by way of a print! Now, if fighting games could just give older women the same treatment already...
My goal is to finish this print for Texas Showdown! Wish me luck!
