Hello patrons! Just wanted to write a sincere thank you for supporting adult content creators like myself. This is a pretty uncertain time in this space: governments around the world are seeking to impose more restrictions on how and what kind of adult content can be shared, and everyone along the payment processing chain has their own policies on how to handle "high risk" transactions.
If you haven't heard, within the last 30 days, X and BlueSky have restricted adult images for unverified users in the UK thanks to the Online Safety Act; Itch.io delisted all their paid NSFW products because of warnings they received from Mastercard; the US Supreme Court upheld the right for states to require online age-verification over the right to free speech, and bills KOSA and the Screen Act seek to impose broader federal requirements for regulating access to adult content.
I've been heartened to see the Internet community rallying. Creators have been doing different versions of 'Strip for Stripe' to incentivize reaching out to payment processors, sites like yellat.money and stop-paypros.neocities.org have sprung up with contact numbers, the Cartoonist Cooperative has made this one of their policy initiatives, and there have been petitions on Change.org and the ACLU to try and move the needle.
Regardless of what happens, rest assured I'm not about to stop drawing. Making this kind of art gives me life, and I'm so grateful that I get to share it with you all.
