2024-09-28 20:45:02 +0000 UTCI suspect that it was not actual mithril that Sauron gave to Celebrimbor to craft the nine rings of men. In the scene before, Sauron is cutting his hand with a knife to get blood. I think the saying "Into this ring he poured his cruelty, his malice and his will to dominate all life" might not be a metaphor, but rather Sauron putting his literally essence into the rings. I can not understand why he would cut his hand otherwise. It would be kind of cool if he created the one ring using his blood and the remains of Fëanor's hammer.
