Kyoshi did briefly 'possess' Aang in the episode "Avatar Day" where we found out about how Kyoshi Island was formed, and the fate of Chin the Conqueror. it was a non-combat part only, during Aang's trial. And as people said above Roku posessed Aang in the episode "Winter Solstice pt 2" in a fighting role, and in "The Deserter" in a ... persuasive role. :D Meanwhile I can't get over discovering this week that Daniel Dae Kim provided the voice for Hiroshi Sato, Asami Sato's father in Legend of Korra. Cannot unhear.

2024-02-28 13:28:19 +0000 UTCIn the cartoon, Roku also appeared/projected through Aang in the fire nation temple episode (S1E8: Winter Solstice Part 2). In the spirit world, Roku warns Aang about Sozin's comet and how he must master all four elements. He then projected through Aang, helping him defeat Zhao, his soldiers and Zuko. Very similar to what happened here.

2024-02-28 02:24:36 +0000 UTCre Kyoshi showing up, (i know you said not to dig you out too much... this isn't that) Roku appeared through Aang to 'tell' Jeong Jeong he kinda had to train him (S1 E16), so there IS precedent for this being a thing in the OG show. and ngl, cos it's Kyoshi and she did THAT, i wouldn't've really cared if they'd created it fresh. :D & given that this is essentially a cover version, i really enjoyed it. the extra stuff gives (possible) headcanon for events we never saw (until/unless Brike overwrite it) & having binged S1 i hope they get to do 2&3.
