I personally think Thrawn is gonna be driving force behind the imperials now. I don’t think the New Republic would be careless enough to let him escape when he was handed to them on a silver platter… but of course I could be way wrong. Especially with what we’ve seen last episode Though I certainly doubt someone like Gideon would be allowed into the amnesty program, so he could seriously have been thrown in a cell immediately

2023-03-22 05:30:32 +0000 UTCI think he's already free, especially given Elia Kane's apparent connection with the authorities on Coruscant when Pershing was arrested. I can't imagine those who served The Empire would suddenly abandon their ideology - especially when there are so many together at Amnesty Housing! They are working behind the scenes to infiltrate the New Republic and I suspect we'll get a Gideon flashback/jailbreak episode soon. Besides the storyline, Giancarlo Esposito is so amazing, he's not going out on a throw-away footnote in the script!

2023-03-22 04:07:35 +0000 UTCYes i think he escaped and is looking for revenge - mind flaying Pershing for turning on him (and stopping him from talking about his snoak cloning project) and I think those tie fighters that attacked bokatans castle were his. Revenge for her leading the team that captured him and to stop her getting the dark Saber back. I think he will try to get it back from din at some point in the season. I'm not convinced he cares about getting it in a fair fight either.

Can't wait for what ever is, he's quite awesome and I hope we get to see many more random warlords like in legend's.

2023-03-22 02:51:23 +0000 UTCIt’s a hard question. My immediate response is yes, he’s somehow connived his way through or out of the system. But then, why bring him back? What would his purpose be in the scheme of things, just to bring in Thrawn? He really isn’t needed to do that. To become the arch villain again? Ok, he’s bad, but he’s still not Vader or Thrawn or even Tarkin. The only thing that comes to mind is using him to tell us the whole story of what happened with Mandalor, Bo Katan, and the dark saber.
