So regarding the question of whether Vaemond's death is the end of the Velaryon line(as in the house with the name and blood), the answer is theoretically no, but pretty much only if the suggestion made by Rhaenyra bears fruit. Basically, Rhaenyra's firstborn, and heir, Jacaerys, is by name a Velaryon(but of course a Strong bastard as we know). However, even if he marries Baela Targaryen and has children, they would be considered Targaryens as per the agreement made earlier in the show. So the only way for Velaryon family name, continuing with someone that has Velaryon blood, would be if Rhanerya's second kid, Lucerys, which is the heir to Driftmark, had a kid with Rhaena Targaryen. Ideally a male, since that's what required by Westerosi custom. Since then the kid would carry the Velaryon name from the father side, and the Velaryon blood from the mother's side. Of course, this is all not taking Laenor into the equation. Presumably he won't have children considering his sexual orientation.

2022-10-11 20:09:30 +0000 UTCMy favorite line of the episode is Daemon with a little smirk, egging on Vaemond in the throne room: "Say it!" 😲 Also, two notes: Think of Mysaria - aka Lady Misery - as the new Varys with all her "little birds". She is the Master of Whisperers on this show. Who is she working for? We don't know yet. Maybe herself... for now. Aemond is definitely poised to be the Daemon of "the greens" - i.e. the violent, volatile, wild card personality of the team - notice G.R.R.M purposely named them the same with just the letter "D" transposed.

He answered her question, that yes, he believes in the song of Ice and Fire, and that only a true Targaryen can unite the world against the Long Night. He said "only you" can do this - directed at Rhaenyra - who was actually Alicent. That's gonna cause some... conflict lol.

Daemon helping him to the throne and crowning him was so... melancholy. Him shouting at his family to just get along at dinner was so heartbreaking. But despite all that, even though his last words may accidentally start a war, he died believing he did all he could to keep peace in the realm and his family. Poor man suffered so much. Rest in Peace.
