Maybe it's personal, maybe it's not. I'd think he would still hunt the Avatar even if Zuko wouldn't pay him is because the Fire Lord knows Aang survived now because of the previous episode. So, he probably has a bounty for his capture/defeat once again.

2022-04-28 23:50:28 +0000 UTCthis is my favorite episode of Avatar and your analysis is spot on imo. Having Toph be the "Devil's Advocate" here was a brilliant writing choice, and having Katara be the sort of loose end is too. Everything from here on out is masterpiece.
