Nathema, aka Medriaas, is the home planet of Tenebrae where he did a giant Sith ritual. He lured many Sith Lords there and drained their life essence and that of the entire planet, increasing his own powers and prolonging his life. From here, the legend of the "Immortal Emperor" begins, for then to move to Dromund Kaas etc... more to this info are told by Master Gnost Dural videos released by the Swtor devs months before the realease of the game.
