Basically any soty before the recent years you can just assume most of the footage was not filmed within the same year

But… about the “goo goo” thing… Language, especially spoken language, is heavily tied up with racial and socio-economic factors. While you say Tyshawn got lazy with his speech on that ad, it sounds to me like what he did was fail to code switch from “unacceptable” i.e. AAVE, speech to “acceptable” I.e. “white” speech. Even if he just had a syllabobble, the history of white people dictating how BIPOC people should sound in order to be taken seriously is long and ugly. Even though I’m 1000% certain you didn’t intend anything racist by it, the context has a seriously racist track record, and I can understand how people would be sensitized to it. Lazy, in particular, is a hot button word, especially for Black people. Basically, I know you’re not intentionally being that guy, but white supremacists ruin everything and you’re treading into dog whistle territory. Jsyk.

This isn’t some federation that gets together with viable metrics and deliberates over something. Thrasher has a vibe that they “try” to uphold. If a skater of a certain vibe doesn’t fit the publications vibe they aren’t going to win if even considered. It’s Thrashers skater of the year, not the skater of the year. Thrashers just the only large publication right now, ideally there would be multiple publications with their picks
