Hello, everyone!
I apologize for this week's Progress Report being late. I wanted to launch into this week's Report with a fully finished draft of the Batcat screenplay, but that isn't going to happen. I considered delaying this post till the screenplay is done, but that could be as late as Friday - it's a big screenplay, with 118 shots currently accounted for, with 5 of 7 scenes adapted.
Needless to say, there is no way this is fitting into an 8-minute window. Just fitting the existing 118 shots into 8 minutes would devolve to a 4-second average per shot. That ain't happening.
Innie mentioned to me when she wrote it that she intended for it to be a two-parter, and as much as I'd rather not do that, we may end up having to go that route anyways. I won't know until the storyboard is made (which won't happen until after the screenplay is finished), but I will be really surprised if this fucker clocks in under 20 minutes at first pass.
This is before Innie and I take the hatchet to it, of course. But if it does end up being about 20 minutes, then splitting it into two 10-minute parts would be a lot more manageable. It's a lot easier to cut 10 minutes down to 8 minutes, than it is to cut 20 minutes down to 8 minutes.
If we end up cutting it into two parts, then I will explicitly leave the production cycle of the second part up to the viewers. If you all want to see Innie's story completed, then I can do both parts back-to-back. If you'd rather I explore other ideas, I can return to Innie's story at a later date.
But that's a bridge we'll burn as we get to it.
Beyond that, you may have noticed all of the pin-ups that are this week's Progress Report poster! Like this one!

These are part of an effort I've undertaken to grow my Bluesky following. I've dropped using Twitter as a daily driver, relegating it only to important announcements and releases. The nonstop torrent of Nazi bullshit on my timeline was just exhausting me - and the fact that I don't follow anyone, like anything, or comment or retweet anything means that the Nazi floodgates are just the default on that website. And frankly, I just don't need that bullshit in my life, and so I chose to cut it out.
Instead, I'll be using Bluesky for my day-to-day social media musings. Part of that is an effort to post a pinup every day for the next few weeks. It feels weird starting from scratch - for a third time - but it is what it is. It's been a long time since I've watermarked still images.
On the subject of watermarks, would people be interested in unwatermarked versions of these pinups? I don't intend to make a dedicated tier for that, since I don't have plans to make posters indefinitely - I can only come up with so many ideas and I only have so many characters with which to make them. But I can maybe repurpose the Texts tier or something to get the unwatermarked images in. Just let me know if you think it's even worth the effort. I won't bother wasting anyone's time on something no one cares about.
I also have a few other plans in motion in the background, but I don't intend to elaborate on them beyond the occasional cryptic tease. The idea there is either those plans get finished and I shadow-drop them, or they fizzle out and die gracefully, no one ever knowing they even existed.
On that front, I'll just leave this:

If you want to keep up with my day-to-day musings, then I highly recommend keeping an eye on my Bluesky.
Next week's Progress Report will absolutely contain the full first draft of the Batcat screenplay, and will probably be posted to the much-neglected Texts tier rather than the usual Progress Report tier for that. There's no way in hell it will have the storyboard ready to share. I'm not going to harbor any illusions as to that.
That's all for now, everyone! Until next week!
