Important Update Regarding PURE ONYX Content!

Yes, and if Patreon gets another bee in their bonnet, they may declare you no longer meet their revised standards - approval now is no guarantee of approval later. They do not have a good history of consistency. As it is, you will presumably be self-censoring in line with the new guidance... and yet I fully expect additional trouble from this platform, as they whittle you away in small enough cuts to keep you from actually taking the bold move to get free. Everyone that's moved to SubStar, I've followed - and yes, I know that so long as you maintain your Patreon, you're bound globally by their overreaching ToS. But remember that Patreon isn't actually supporting you ... they allow you to receive pledges from us (for now), but they do not in any way promote you. They're ashamed of you, but want your (our) cash. So shift, build up a following, and then cut the cord. This helps not only you, but the community as a whole. I've spent more on this team (starting with MatM) than on any other project, and I've been glad to do it. And when you provide a non-Patreon alternative, I'll gladly continue there, and maybe add a little. Not a punishment for what's out of your control, but being Patreon-only IS in your control. It's my tiny little incentive for you to get one foot onto another platform, one step in the right direction. I know my $3 doesn't even pay for your time reading this, if you do. But I have to "say" something.

So, before I head out, I wanted to ask about the changes to the animations. Like, are we literally going from “we are fighting one another to the death” to “onyx is just super aggressive about playing hard to get”

I've seen other H games work with censorship in the following manner: Instead of changing all their animations and pushing back deadlines and raising costs they rewrote the character's inner monologue, instead of there being non-consensual content, the main character was a prideful pervert who didn't want to admit they enjoyed and craved the advances of the enemies. Additionally, the H content was unable to trigger (such as grapples) unless the player was holding down some kind of input (like the P key or something) where the character would sort of wave the enemies over to them inviting the engagement. Struggling and defiance were part of the character's pride showing and passed for the censorship. IDK just providing some other alternatives for you to consider.

hey im new to patreon, can i ask if the 'scenes' only available in the gallary section and you cant get them in game?

I get what you mean, but what other way we can make our voices heard. If patreon make any change, which effects creators negatively and creators don't really put up any resistance(I get that they can't for they are kinda stuck here and don't want to lose funding) then all we have left is our money. Im going to save judgment for the new animation.

For now perhaps go the “brainwashed” route? Like enemies have something that acts as a really strong aphrodisiac that wears off once the scene is over? That could be a good alternative, at least for the time being.

Some things worth considering for those wanting to jump ship on Patreon: 1) Subscribestar does not and will not accept Paypal in the future. They require a credit card 2) I laid out the bad news first. There's an upside to the recent interaction with Patreon that I haven't gone into yet. They have approved the use of many of our biomonster characters in H content. Not all, but this is significant and I'll go into details later. 3) I agree with the call to distribute our sources of funding. It's why I've started to get a following for our project on itch.io recently. We're also learning details about Subscribestar and may start one soon as a safeguard. We can't release content prohibited by Patreon while we are on Patreon however, so keep that in mind. 4) Grapples as a mechanic are not going away, they simply need their animations reworked. I suggest waiting to see what we come up with. 5) You aren't making a statement by dropping your pledge in an effort to hurt Patreon. Us not being on Patreon may stretch their coffee filter budget for a week, but that's about it. You are however hurting adult game creators that agree with your position. I encourage you to see the bigger picture.

I will be looking forward to you opening up a Subscribestar account so I can start supporting you there instead of on Patreon. I hope that you eventually release a version with the original animations, and revise your future animations to reflect the original vibe of the game before the Patreon censorship. Your approach to the H-Scenes was one of the primary reasons I started supporting you. I will keep on supporting, but I do think this a fairly big loss.

In hindsight i'm also a bit worried of how this could shift future animations as well. There's a good chance the this focus on trying to appease patreon will have some effect on the way future grapples are done and that sucks. We may never really know what grapples with the splicer brute for example would look like without influence <:T

I highly recommend considering parts of pixiv or pixiv fanbox btw. I don't use fanbox and wouldn't know how it works, but considering the kind of content that gets a pass on that site, it may be your best bet. I'd recommend considering that or transitioning to other platforms over actually working on changing any animations for now. If it works out, i'm in.

I must admit that this is pretty upsetting to hear. For me personally, the approach to these animations was a big part of the appeal, alongside the excellent animation work used to bring them to life. The grapples in this game and the details on the motion, expressions and more really made the game stand out, and i'd be lying if the "forceful" or "non-consensual" vibes weren't a big part of that interest. I'm honestly very concerned of what could be lost through these changes, but i'll remain optimistic. I understand this isn't something you guys want either and hopefully the versions we know and love won't be completely gone or replaced; but instead kept on stand by or something while a temporary solution is found. I do insist you guys stand your ground if you can though. I'm at least more than willing to make the jump somewhere else if we need to pledge in some different environment to stay true to your work or desired style, and i don't think i'm the only one. It may be better than taking a risk and having it backfire or lose what made the game more... unique among h-games. Censorship here really does hurt unfortunately, and i can't stress enough how much these grapple scenes helped sell me and possibly many others on your game.

While it hurts to read the news, I understand that finishing the game comes first. Being financially solvent and gaining funding necessary to see to completion is the smarter move, one that you guys are reluctantly abiding by. I am sure that you are exploring other options in case, but until they present themselves to match the current financial backing you are getting from Patreon, it is a necessary evil. I would rather see the same high level of quality be put into the product and released, rather than jeopardize finishing at all if you switch to another platform and the funding does not follow you. I've been a backer for two years now and I will follow whatever the team decides is best for the game.

The reason it matters for me it kinda kills the kink of this game and I think others will agree. Second this will put into questions other animation. (Let me preface this with this isn't an one to one in real life with this game and you should have a mutual agreement with your other about sexual relations.) Now this make it sounds like I'm a creep with this way of thinking, but for me this game is my type of kink I like, that type of aggressive role-playing with my significant other, and for me facial expression, sound, and hand gesture is important and which they kill 2 out of the three.

Does the pervious version have the regular scenes or is every version edited? On the matter of the game I think it does change the mood of the game entirely and I don't like it, plus 30 percent of animation is a lot. Pls see if their other sources for support.(Does anyone have the latest download found out all links been deleted.) After reviewing the original to the new and yes they didn't flush animation at all i know, I don't know how they are going to make the scenes good, or flow like the original. They can only make it straight to the s3x scene immediate or make her want it. IDK I''ll be in for a few more patches to see what they are planning.

someone must have tipped patreon off regarding your content. to remain on patreon, you'll have to remove all references of violence towards the main (female) protagonist, sexual or otherwise...their warning is a precursor to being banned from their service until you conform. I recommend looking for an alternate funding platform (substar, perhaps).

Only about 25% of the game's overall H animations are affected at all. Roughly half of these are simple fixes such as body language / face expressions. The grapple scenes will require more work, and will make Onyx more into it, similar to the vibe in MATM when characters are at full lust.

Give us an example on how you will change the scene animation? Curious on how drastic the changes will be?

Maybe adding in enemy's that have a less forceful approach to subduing her, possibly something a bit more "manipulative" instead of outright force. Mind-control abilities(hypnosis, sexual hallucinations, total sensory manipulation). Aphrodisiac abilities(gas, dart or coated on the tip of an enemy's weapon). Just some suggestions, could do well to spice things up.
