PURE ONYX Inner Circle Test Release for Nov 1, 2020!
Added 2020-11-01 23:35:39 +0000 UTC
Hey guys!
We have a new test release for you to try out!
The environment pipeline is finally becoming operational, and to showcase that we've included the first Sewers map in this release. This is the first full quality map we've released, and it comes with a lot of graphical bells and whistles, so let us know if performance suffers at all for you! You can select it from the new (temporary) stage select menu.
In addition to that, we've also added shops to the maps so that you can test out the shop system code :D.

Change Log
- Added temporary Stage Select menu in Main Menu. This will be used during the development phase for testing new environments as we add them.
- Added the first Sewers map.
- Implemented first iteration of environment FX, including additional lighting, fog shaders, and environment particle FX.
- Made stage shops fully functional in-game, including periodic restock. Note: there won't be a shop on every map in the actual game -- this is largely for testing purposes.
- Coded fully custom, Bezier-based, game database progression curves (used for experience tables, loot-find rates, stats, etc.) and replaced previous iteration of curves using problematic Unity AnimationCurve class with new custom curves.
- Started implementation of localization "module"
- Added text and health gauge "follower" behavior. Health gauges now show new damage received in white, and numerical counters count over time instead of simply changing to their new value.
- Added WIP Ball Drone character (currently just for the shop graphics).
- Can now support more than one foreground/background parallax layer.
Known Issues / TODO
From now on I'm only going to include new and highly relevant issues in these posts, but will keep the full known issues list posted on the reward download page.
- a few new bugs related to the gravity changes. Enemies and Onyx may get stuck in falling pose for a second or two before hitting the ground when knocked down near a map border. It's also possible for Splicer Thugs to float and glitch out some if Onyx knocks them back a lot while they are defending or de-aggro'd.
- Jump may not trigger if Onyx is moving and the frame rate is low.
- Selecting the shop while selecting loot may make the loot window stick in place until Onyx gets near new loot.
- Things start breaking at Wave 50. Don't worry, there's no content hiding that far in.
- Charger doesn't move out of the way when he's a bystander during an H scene. He just kinda goes to sleep right in the middle of it all x_x
