Hello again, everyone!
The time is getting close, now! In the last post, I set out a schedule. Let's take a look at it, see what all I've gotten done, look at what all is left to do, and overall assess how well the schedule is holding up:
THE SCHEDULE:
As we can see, the schedule is actually holding up rather well!
There are a few vestigial elements left, mostly as a consequence of installing the crowd being more intensive than I expected, and requiring a few hours of optimization to even get the crowd into the scene without crashing SFM.
However, the Crowd Detail pass will be exceptionally quick, seeing as the crowd is almost entirely obscured by low light, distance, and depth-of-field blur. Give them a quick hit with a bit of jitter to make them sway naturally as they watch, and they'll be good.
The Expression Detail pass will take a bit more time, but even then, it's much quicker than the body details were. Combine that with how quick the camera choreography will be, and I expect that I will be able to get all of this done before I render on Friday evening.
All in all, the schedule is holding up!
I am very excited! While I'm not very happy with the writing of this short (it was written before I took some lessons in writing better, but it never got revised due to how far along in production it was), and I am acutely aware that the animation is nearly a year old, I think you guys and gals are still going to enjoy it quite a bit. Luckily the narrative isn't that important, and so by extension the writing isn't that front-and-center - the focus is on Liz being her sexy self, and Innie putting her beautifully sexy voice to good use, and I think the short excels in both regards!
This is the last WIP for this project!
I hope to see you all at the 1080p Early Access release! And for those who I won't see there, I will certainly see you at the public release! Keep an eye on Tumblr in the first week of November for that!
