Callisto 0.3 - Week 16 Update
Added 2020-02-14 02:14:51 +0000 UTCBeen a good week on the coding / story writing front. Did a few renders this week, however these have definitely taken a back seat. As far as coding and story line, I have completed about 70% of the main story line, done the backstories and the TV story. I also managed to code and test the full basketball game and winning incentive scene. The basketball coding went better than expected and worked exactly how I thought it would. It's nice to have a win every now and again.
I have also been gathering some additional music for the game and will have a unique track for each backstory and also intend to have a unique track for lewd content for each character. It is important to have the sound match the mood of the current scene and also the personality type of each character. I also played very briefly with sound file editing, which is far easier than I expected. It took me all of about 5 minutes from opening the sound editor the first time, to tweaking a source sound to roughly what I wanted.
They following is my hit list of things to go.
- Main Story Renders - Just need to have the little scene showing the some orbital dynamics. This scene is similar in nature to the salvage hologram scene already in the game. So a very simple animation and some static renders.
- Main Story Ancillary Renders - Just a couple images with background activities related to Liberation of Dione.
- Kara Combat Training - Just need to code and write some related text. Renders and animations are done.
- Coding Central - Have to control the triggering of the various events and make some adjustments to the ship timetable. Need to adjust the ship currency system a little and create a couple new parameters for the main character.
- Music - Just have to decide which track against which story.
- Sound Effects - Customise the ship landing noises to match the video. It's just cropping audio length and playing with volume levels, so pretty easy.
- Lia Lewd Interface - This is the lewd mini-game for Lia.
All of the above should take a little over a week. The only slight doubt in this is the Lia Lewd Interface which may present some coding challenges. If these challenges crop up, I'll just release the next beta without this little game. It really is standalone so the beta should still be fine without this item. I very confident that the $10 Patreons will have a beta in their hands prior to the end of the month.
A couple renders of renders I did this week to tide you over till next week.
