感覚や精神が共有される訳ではないので、精神攪乱から支配しやすくするための手法……かもしれない。

The way the Parasite works implies that it's less capable of dominating the mind, and more working by subverting the mind and directly controlling the body. Activities like this might be an attempt to break the host's will, allowing further control.
