Ok, so I got it now. So remember I’m new to watching anime which means watching something with subtitles is still something I’m adjusting to! I think Squid Game was the only other show before AOT that I ever watched with solely subtitles! Anyways, I watched this in dub again to understand certain things better and everything clicked. Basically, when the little sparkles appear around Anya’s head, that means she’s using telepathy or she’s telling us what she’s thinking. Also, during that “playing tag” part basically Twilight & Anya were both trying to play mind games with each other. The father DOESN’T KNOW she’s a telepath. It was some narrator or something just confirmed she’s a telepath to the viewer so we understand what the hell is going on. Ok I think that’s pretty much the main things I had to make sure I understood before moving forward. Thanks. 2 more surprises coming soon!

And the last part where Twilight asked himself “I…relaxed?” is because he’s always alert as a spy, and finding out Anya passed the entrance exam allowed him a moment of relief = relaxed = then he felt all the exhaustion That moment when you said watching this show is to take a break from the dark-themed anime(s) then you immediately see death in the first few minutes in the episode lmaoooo don’t worry though! It’s definitely more on the comedy, wholesome, lighthearted genre This is a really nice surprise! One of my favorite shows ever XD Also, usually in the subs when the text is italicized it means they’re saying it in their head. The one who thought of Anya as a “creepy, disgusting little brat” wasn’t Twilight, but the drunk dude (although you probably realized it already after rewatching in dub ahuehue)
