the entire somewhere along our memory album is about the same thing. late 2015 feelings. I was also deeply inspired by autumn and winter. when I made kiss in october I can't remember if it was in october or early november, but the idea is the same. a coupld miles from my old house there was this one little hill that I remember sitting at some years before. when I wrote kiss in autumn (later renamed kiss in october) i imagined sitting on this hill in the grass with someone (more specifically the person who was breaking my heart at the time) and sharing a beautiful moment. a genuine moment where I could be loved. and that's it. that's the entire song. is the idea of a beautiful moment. sharing something so simple yet so large and powerful. I imagined the way the october sun would shine on us. but of course it was all daydreaming and in reality I was sad and lonely. I remember the piano part was inspired by this little piano melody I heard in movie that I watched in highschool earlier that year, and the first riff in the song was inspired by someone I don't know by rapture. I remember recording the vocals one night in demember of that month when it was snowing outside, and those moments I will always remember. there was something really strong and impactful about that winter, and specifically that moment I was on the couch with my laptop singing for kiss in october. fun fact : in january 2017 i rerecorded the whole song in a profession studio and still haven't released it. one day I will get around to it. the only thing really is that it's missing the piano intro and I don't have a piano
