Image is of Freya, a large torbie, trying to prove that she somehow fits in a shoebox. It’s almost working.

Things continue apace on the writing front. I have made a couple of decisions on what the next few books are going to be that I may yet come to regret (we’ll see!)

Unsurprisingly to most, I imagine, I have inserted a sequel to Seekers in the Void into my schedule. None of the titles I have in my head are acceptable, but the plan is for it to come out September of next year. This one won’t have any aliens, I already know that much.

What was a bit more of a surprise to me, especially, is that one of the story ideas I mentioned last month managed to take up sufficiently solid residence in my head that I’m going to be writing it. More strangely, it’s an urban fantasy trilogy, which I really didn’t expect to end up with full-form outlines appearing out of my head!

The first of those, tentatively entitled Spirit Blade, should be coming out in May.

What am I working on

Paperbacks. I finished Shadow of Mars on the 30th and so I am clearing a few things off my plate to make sure I have nothing to worry about during the Ship Shape trip. (We’re still fundraising for that, please check it out).

Everything for Regent’s Mate and Void Spheres except the paperbacks is locked in. I’m hoping to get the paperbacks for both put together today, allowing me to order proofs in time to fix any issues before the launch of Regent’s Mate.

I’m also planning to get e-book and paperbacks ready for Adept’s Path, the fourth Teer & Kard book, to set up preorders for that and have files all ready to go.

Once I have those three books queued up with Amazon, I’ll be writing outlines for the rest of this week—both Broken Prince and Spirit Blade, I think.

Broken Prince will be my next novel project, which is going to coincide with the Japan trip. Nikola Adamant isn’t in a great place as of the end of Regent’s Mate, but he has a job to do. Adamants aren’t good at taking care of themselves first!

Book Recommendation

Since I seem to have done this in most of these posts so far,  I’m giving this a subheading of its own.

This months standout has been the Nyx Fortuna series by Michelle Manus, starting with Guardian of Chaos. Not really an urban fantasy, though the characters do wander back to modern day Earth occasionally, but an enjoyable (if sometimes quite dark) fantasy series about interplanetary travel.

Th-th-th-that’s all folks!

Happy reading!
