So, what's up? Where the update?

So, let's see here... I've been keeping mostly quiet as i try to figure out this stuff mostly myself, sadly being part of the "Sexbound Team" didn't earn me enough information to honestly make use of the API without being stuck in the data-hell that is some of these files, between other people lashing out as i try to manage communities and hold myself together in these trying times (Egg included), but that's just my pile of excuses. You probably want to know progress. So let's get onto that:

Sarkis here will be our example guide! I am using a "Anime Eyes for Humans" as the heads and with Eixxxo's "Ahegao Emote" for flavour, these do not affect the animations, so there's that, in case some are curious.

This all is very familiar, but you may already notice the new "idle-laying" sprite. Really leisure, could use some improvements, but thus far, this is just a concept and has worked.

... And here we have, the deal-breaker. This is why the update is taking so long, and honestly, the most frustrating part of it all! Spending 20+ hours and it only aligning two animations. You may ask why, and hoh boi, the process of adding a position to Sexbound is no joke!

This is the outdated animation file i'm using to test the animations and get the off-set values i need to implement this on the final version. It has 8296 lines of code and over 160 thousand characters. For instance, in the GIF above, you've seen how the face-sitting animation had the head in the wrong position, yes? Well then;

These are the head positions for one of the characters, in the animation. Relatively simple numbers, since they aren't configured to a different value per frame of animation, but they aren't what they seem: 1 = 8 pixels, or a Starbound's block internal size. So 0.125 is one pixel. That said, these are coordinates, X and Y for lack of a better term, but one does not always mean up/down and the other left/right. So i go and adjust these, hoping i got it right. I gotta reload the whole game, check, if i didn't type any extra symbols and the game doesn't crash, then i get a result. I've done this for over 20 hours alone, and still can't pinpoint the heads properly, not to mention the other character, and the other positions.

So, yeah, at large, this is why the update has taken so long. I've been struggling to play what essentially is a board game of battleship, where my goal is to find the right place for the heads, all the while considering things like the arms, body, genitals, and i haven't even thrown all the species into the mix yet.

Thankfully, this is a one-time effort (hopefully), so when this is said and done, i can send the data over to Locuturus's compiler thing, and it'll be within a updated, working update, for everyone to enjoy. HOWEVER!

Two positions weren't made for this update, as i couldn't manage to finangle their sprites in, those were "mating press" and "amazonian", i already received a good suggestion for a new one as a replacement, but that still leaves 1 position slot open. If anyone has suggestions, feel free to toss them my way.

And that is all for today. Thank you all very much for your support through these hard times all around, i greatly appreciate the show of support from my patrons, and i hope you all haven't put any money into supporting me if you need some yourself! Take care, and have fun!

Love the work. I admire your dedication to the Sexbound project. Plus your pfp makes me laugh everytime. You need another animation suggestion??? I see you already have a HUGE arsenal of animations. But... I am a fan of the ballet/standingspread but laying down. Which I suppose is a spoon position? A spoon position with the leg up, if that makes sense.
