New Light Jumpship Expansion
Added 2025-02-09 15:37:03 +0000 UTCGood morning, players! Today, we’re beginning the launch of the much-anticipated jumpship expansion for the New Light campaign. This expansion gives our players interesting ways to upgrade & modify their jumpships. Whether your goal is to build a heavy hauler Regulus or a deep space exploring Arcadia, this system is meant to help express your character’s interests and preferences.
Special thanks goes out to long-time player Montana for his knowledge of modern fighter jets, and his patience with Kitty’s questions!
Soft Launch
As mentioned before, this update is the beginning of the jumpship expansion. Customizable jumpships won’t fully be in play for a little while longer. We have to set up all the paperwork and backend logistics first, which means this update will only be rolling out to a select few players right now. We’re going to run them through the stat tracking process and see how it goes, make adjustments, and refine the process until we’re ready to roll it out to the entire playerbase.
However, everyone can view the mechanics and stat blocks of the new jumpship system over here right now. We can’t wait to hear what you think!
Room for Growth
While the system we’re launching today is already robust enough to keep players occupied for (possibly) months, this isn’t actually the full jumpship system. There are a number of unique mods and whole other classes of jumpship to add. We also want to add stat sheets for other spacefaring vehicles such as skiffs, harvesters, and threshers, not to mention grounded vehicles like drakes, goliaths, and yes, Guardian sparrows.
Other New Light Updates
We’ve capped the Angler Expression at 4th rank for the time being. Players stop gaining Angler EXP when they reach 4th rank. Anyone currently at 4th rank hasn’t lost any EXP, they just won’t get any new EXP.
We’ve added a Registered Jumpship column to the Guardian Census. If your Guardian PC owns their own jumpship, please use the #event-census channel on our Discord to report which class of jumpship they own.
Last night, a fireteam of Guardians almost opened the door to the Vault of Glass. There’s just one piece of info missing! And then, of course, it'll be up to players to actually delve inside—and pray you fair better than Pahanin's forgotten fireteam did.
Recently, WARSATs landing in the Meridian Bay have contained a number of interesting text files. These seem to be coming from the warmind Charlemagne, but whether these files are being doled out willingly or not has yet to be determined. Players are keeping track of all the text files they found in the Warsat Log Thread on our Discord. Who is communicating these files with you, and to what end?
A Hive executioner known as Malgohr is still out there, terrorizing New Lights in the Cosmodrome. He’s been killed multiple times by now. The Vanguard wants to know: is he somehow evading death, or is this part of a collective action from the Hive?
