After severing the the fallen ehmatta's influence over her, Miriam was truly able to become whole and live a quiet life alongside her blood companion, Rema. Reconnecting to her estranged family through the discovery of Count Ambrose's identity she was equally able to resolve the loss of her mother. A few shades of the past lingered, but Miriam never expected less leaving such a history behind.
Life would present an altogether different challenge when Rema informed her of the incident on the countryside. In particular, children had been orphaned, one of which was a Penumbra. Miriam knew Rema and when the question was raised, equal parts responsibility and hesitation arose. As an Arcturus and experiencing tragedies that left many Penumbra children alone, Miram met the girl, Mila.
A familial recognition Miriam felt crossed between them and in that one sitting she decided to adopt her. The boy Rema would take in was suffering from Breahs and the decision was made in order to save his life, granting him the vitality of the Penumbra. Some concern lingered with Miriam as no rite of a blood companion was performed.
