Magnolia became an Umbra despite her protestations against it, in the end Rema having tricked her. Instead of being livid as she imagined upon learning this, a mix of inanition and liberation came over her. The smothered possibilities of a life consumed by time were now a reality. Not knowing the circumstances of Terzo's disappearance, Magnolia knew she'd never see him again. When presented the opportunity to travel with the Gavrielle women, it was taken without hesitation.

Nearly twenty years came and went before it became known that Cachusa and Miriam were being hunted and had to leave for their sake. Mother and daughter would reunite when Rema attained knighthood, her daughter making a home for her on the same land as her own when not with the caravan. As the further additions of Duske, Lauro and Mila, the shaping of a family would see Magnolia take up her maternal role without thought.
