Unlike every other character he has grown up around, he is protected upmost as the only one so to not have tragedy befall him. However, he does experience the same displacement, literally being a lost child (Mila might be seen the same, though she was given up). Lauro's careful molding was not only simply out of love, but if Rema's belief was right, to prepare him for the life he would have to be given up to lead.
