I'm betting Gus spent years making connections, building business relationships, working out supply systems, and covering his tracks, but Walt thinks he can just hop to it and be the king. I suspect it's not going to go well.
Mike told him as much but changed his mind and I'm still not sure why...

Jeez I'm glad I have you to remind me of this stuff, my memory is like a colander. I remember the photo breaking and them finding stuff on it, but didn't know what it was. Makes so much sense.

2024-06-15 02:23:13 +0000 UTCWhen Walt used the magnet on the evidence locker, several items were damaged, including a framed photo of Gus and his former partner. The damaged frame revealed that Gus had written his offshore bank account numbers on the back of that photo (https://i.imgur.com/xJ26G.jpeg). The DEA has seized those bank accounts now, so potential witnesses are not being paid off. I think Mike's primary motivation is money - money to keep people quiet and stay out of jail, but also to start re-building his granddaughter's inheritance after it was taken
