Kalen and Kalmia were raised in their parents mercenary band, Gann Caen, the only life the pair had known. The other members of Gann Caen raised he and sister when their parents were murdered by a powerful merchant they sought to expose. When Rema joined the group under alias Cetrine Nerosa, they were able to avenge the Helix and gain a powerful ally among Isalme's merchant guild.

Tutored by Cetrine and Samael, Kalen and his sister would repay their debt by offering whatever information and aid to a knighted Rema, allying them in the eyes of rivals and potential clients on the other side of conflict with Isalme. Thus far the twins have lead Gann Caen without fail, but their loyalties may separate them from their inheritance.
