Nothing intricate or ornate, Viktoria's choice of dress is far more basic in the early years of her 'emergence'. This could reflect a lack of confidence despite her impulses or rather, she was not rebellious against Cachusa's rearing.
A more positive interpretation could be that when she took up the needle & thread like her mother, her need for approval led her to push her abilities and create what would be ahead of it's time (and modesty).
