I thought the last couple panels totally sum it up well. It's not like a lack of intelligence or ability on her part, but a choice to be free from worrying. Britney could easily ace her math class, but why would she worry trying hard at math when she'd rather think about a cute pose or what outfit to wear tomorrow. She's learnt to focus on what makes her happiest! I think this ending is like super sweet in that light ❣️

I do love staying true to the original, but still adding your small stylistic touches for an updated look. I suppose my darker side will just have to imagine what could happen to Mr. Neal. I don't think a cheerleader suits though, maybe a dumb stripper... hmm 🤔

I don't see why Britney couldn't be pretty 'n' smart... there are too many stories about girl staying pretty only...
