2023-09-25 17:17:00 +0000 UTCThanks for another fun chapter! Also a word suggestion. “No, lad. God had given you your Crusade. You ought be outfitted like a Crusader, at last.” Perhaps "has" instead of "had"

2023-09-25 06:31:08 +0000 UTCHelstrom did not know the full nature of Isidor's interactions with Darcy, Isidor confessed that to him. But both he and Dolus deduced the two had been in close physical proximity and drinking because they're hounds, and Isidor/Darcy were reckless and smelled of one another and alcohol. Dolus additionally visited the Lodge right after Isidor/Darcy had quickly left it in disarray, found where they'd been sleeping together and concluded, in his mind, they were sexually involved, because it seemed obvious to him. He is still assuming that. He is not giving him permission to continue it, explicitly, but he IS letting him off the hook for some reason, which will become obvious soon... A lot of the rest of these I can't answer without spoiling chapter 17, but I will say at the very least, it might be natural to assume Darcy is still in the area, because they tend to hover around the same areas as Cillian and Isidor, where they've previously made appearances multiple times. It would be a natural conclusion to draw, as a person, that they might reappear to make contact with the few people in the world whom they know and might care about. And Malachi's 'sin' and desire to work with Isidor are also fodder for future chapters ; )
