I've had that in my watchlist for a long time and had no idea it was so 'Bataillian'. I remember sitting next to my dad on a plane while he was watching it and the scene I saw kinda made me not want to watch it for a long time.

It centers on the idea of torture as a means of achieving limit experiences for the purposes of something resembling religous ecstasy. A disturbing flick, but well worth watching. It was mentioned in the YouTube comments a couple times, but I figured I'd mention it again in case it got missed.
