August Update

Good morrow my dear knights!

I wanted to drop in and update you on a few things. Since my last post I had built a PC, which has been incredible to learn and assimilate to-- fellow Mac users, fret not! It's not that bad. Just kidding, it can be. I had an interesting error where everything would be operating fine, then my computer would randomly freeze and lock up and I had to force shutdown and reboot. For weeks, I've been slowly going down the list of Event Log errors to diagnose and troubleshoot through online forums and I feel like I'm getting closer to the fix. The most recent attempt: a repair install of Windows-- I feel hopeful🤞. Although PCs have a lot more variables and the source of a problem can be a myriad of things, I do find it somewhat satisfying how much control the user can have over their rig; to diagnose, remedy, and optimize. Whereas with Macs, it's a bit harder to get in there. Oh also, the performance difference is NIGHT AND DAY, video editing playback has been smooth and I've been able to briefly frolic through the sweet pastures of PC gaming.

As you all have seen by now, the big announcement was my partnership with G4. And although I can't say much about it, it's been an incredible learning experience thus far. They have been super kind and accommodating, and it's been interesting to see how different it is to navigate the content creation space through a business partnership. I know after enough time passes, I'll be able to summarize this whole experience eloquently, but for now, know that all is well and I am learning. Weird to think it'll only be for two months, then I'll be back to the hip-shaking antics of Noble Knight Adventures.

Streaming has been on a bit of a hiatus. As I'd like to set it up on the new PC but I haven't had the time to (previously it was through a Macbook, connected to the Elgato capture device, then connected to the console). Another interesting variable, I might not be at my apartment for long (moving to another place is on the horizon), and so the idea of settling in and setting up a streaming station just doesn't feel right. Could be Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs prodding me. Anyways, it's something that's been on my mind, and when I get back to it, I want the setup done right.

p.s. for the bandit's tears (see pic above), I used something called a "tear stick," it's wax infused with menthol so that when applied to your skin, the warmth melts the wax, and the menthol releases causing strong tears-- as if you were cutting an onion. Anyways, that's my secret and further proof I'm not a professionally-trained actor haha!
