Fishing For Podcast Questions
Added 2025-01-15 00:02:13 +0000 UTC
I'm preparing for the next Mythic Magazine Podcast, so I figured I would cast my line out into the Mythicist brain pool and see what questions and thoughts you all might want to share.
I collect these questions and randomly choose one to answer at the beginning of each podcast. I have a nice, hefty manilla folder full of questions ready to roll, but I can always use more!
I keep saying "questions", but it can also be thoughts you'd like to see aired, ideas, and just anything in general you'd like to hear talked about.
Feel free to put a question or thought on the hook by posting it below, and I'll reel it in and add it to the pile of delicious things to talk about :)
Happy adventuring!

2025-03-16 20:27:04 +0000 UTCHi Tana, I have another one: in your opinion; what would be the minimum system crunch to use with mythic? I was on a plane with no wifi, but I have a printed version of the chart and some dice. I created 4 characters with 5 stats and each one with 3 special skills they could do (I was inspired by the Genasi from d&d, so each one was a different element and a different archetype like-class. I didn't got very far in the adventure (because I don't know how to manage many PCs) but my intuition showed me that, with mythic, you don't really need much more than that...

2025-01-28 19:25:46 +0000 UTCI’ve been using your society builder to create the context for my Shadowdark solo sandbox I’ve been playing with. It has generated a lot of really fun adventure ideas. How would you go about seeding those into your gameplay? Threads/lists from Mythic 2nd? Would you add those in before your PCs know anything about them? In a traditional GM led session these would be things I’d consider secrets and clues that would be revealed across session.

2025-01-28 15:25:49 +0000 UTCFor a solo adventure idea (or article), how about a James Bond or spy themed one? I was listening to "The Solo Roleplayers Podcast" #12 interview with Carl White (Lone Adventurer). See time stamp 38:30. Kudos at 27:00 https://podcasts.apple.com/za/podcast/12-interview-carl-white-the-lone-adventurer/id1764932831?i=1000685053938

2025-01-28 13:35:49 +0000 UTCMaybe a Mythic Starter set or guided beginner walkthrough/ adventure that holds the players hand step by step. It would include what to write down in the lists and what to write down for the journaling part.

2025-01-15 18:41:49 +0000 UTCAny additional advice on mapping mythic’s scenes onto systems with procedural travel and exploration rules - especially where a procedural interaction (say a hex or a room) may not have as many inherent conflicts or choices as a more narrative-driven scene.

2025-01-15 18:18:11 +0000 UTCHow do you deal with difficult players? Specifically in solo play

2025-01-15 15:17:44 +0000 UTCExamples from the Creature Crafter? Favorite characters from fiction, movies, tv as Mythic characters? The Cowardly Lion as a SWAT officer... nah. Maybe?

2025-01-15 11:29:46 +0000 UTCDo you see TTRPGs and especially solo TTRPGs as an interesting field to get to know yourself better? Do your characters always go in a similar direction or, on the contrary, do you try out other things that don't suit you at all? Has a TTRPG session had a particular influence on how you behave in everyday situations afterwards? Or do you sometimes even use it specifically as a tool to deal with something better?

2025-01-15 09:10:53 +0000 UTCJust curious if you have any reflections on The Adventure Crafter, if you've had ideas to iterate on it, if you've ever thought of merging it into the GME somehow (and why that would or wouldn't work)
