Mythic Magazine #49 is now ready for download. This issue has a new Crafter in it for building societies of all kinds and sizes. There's also a guide for new solo roleplayers covering a wide range of topics.
The Society Crafter: Randomly generate societies, including histories, cultural details, what they produce, and more to make communities come alive in your adventures.
A Guide For New Solo Roleplayers: With an eye toward fundamentals, this guide presents solo roleplaying at its most essential level, with suggestions on how to get organized and how to solve common problems.

Thank you Sean :) I was a bit skeptical at first of writing that article, I figured anyone reading the magazine wouldn't need it. But I quickly realized that it kind of doesn't matter how long you've been doing this, there are so many ways to look at it and understand it that all of us can benefit from a fundamentals discussion. I learned something just writing it! That's something else I love about solo roleplaying, there is no end to what you can learn and understand about it.

There aren't individual printed copies, but they do get collected in 6 issue Compilations that have print editions. I'm sorry about your migraines, you have my sympathy for sure.

2025-01-04 21:19:43 +0000 UTCThat sounds like a great adventure :) I did a similar solo adventure many years ago, where my PC simply traveled and got to know each new place she ended up. It was one of the most enjoyable solo roleplaying experiences I ever had. I think the Society Crafter would plug into that very nicely, providing more detail to make the experience richer.

2025-01-02 01:02:27 +0000 UTCThe Society Crafter reminds me of the Anime called "Kino's Journey." It's about a traveler who visits various cultures solely to experience those cultures. I think this might make an interesting idea for a solo session where I'm a Traveler, and I can use the Society Crafter to create each culture.
