Ephti, the Milli pen, and going to war against perfectionism
Added 2024-07-24 15:11:02 +0000 UTCA drawing of Ephti, Foxtoad's new OC over on Twitter. This drawing was done as a warmup and intentionally done quickly to fight against my perfectionism. If I haven't already said before I have a terrible problem with trying to make every tiny little detail perfect in my drawings, which is extremely tedious and unnecessary to achieve good-looking results. Hell, my rampant perfectionism has caused me to think too hard on things and actually made drawings WORSE because I keep obsessing over nonsense. I seek to end that problem and hopefully it starts with this drawing, which I only spent roughly 1.5 hours on (this would normally take me far longer).
One of the things that seemed to help with me getting this down quickly was not only a deliberate change in mindset, but also a change in which brush I use. Earlier I talked about brushes and how I found Soipen to work pretty well... until I stumbled upon the Milli pen literally a day later. This DEFAULT BRUSH is what I did this drawing with and it does its job so well that, like the lasso fill tool, I'm amazed I haven't used it before. I should probably pay attention to default tools in Clip Studio Paint more.
